§251.1
Definitions

The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

(1) Commission–The Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission.

(2) Director–The director of the State Office of Risk Management.

(3) Division–The Workers’ Compensation Division of the Office of the Attorney General.

(4) Employee–Any person who is an “employee” as defined by the Texas Labor Code, Chapter 501, § 501.001(5) and § 501.024, or is otherwise considered under Texas law to be a state employee for purposes of that chapter.

(5) Employing agency–The agency, department, office, board, commission, body, or entity of the state by which the injured person is employed.

(6) Insured–The State of Texas.

(7) Insurer–The director, State Office of Risk Management.
