This appeal arises pursuant to the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act, TEX. LAB. CODE ANN. § 401.001 et seq. (1989 Act). A contested case hearing (CCH) was held on October 23, 2002. The hearing officer resolved the disputed issue by deciding that the appellant’s (claimant) compensable injury of ____________, includes the diagnoses of reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) to the claimant’s left upper extremity and depression, but that the compensable injury does not include the diagnoses of myofascial pain syndrome and insomnia. The claimant appealed, contending that the compensable injury has caused her to have RSD in all four of her extremities, not just the left upper extremity. The respondent (carrier) responded, requesting affirmance.
DECISION
The hearing officer’s decision is affirmed.
The claimant sustained a compensable burn injury to her left hand. The issue before the hearing officer dealt with the extent of the compensable injury. Conflicting evidence, including conflicting medical opinions, was presented at the CCH. The hearing officer is the sole judge of the weight and credibility of the evidence. Section 410.165(a). As the finder of fact, the hearing officer resolves the conflicts in the evidence and determines what facts have been established. It is clear from the hearing officer’s decision that she found the opinion of the carrier’s doctor to be more persuasive than that of the claimant’s doctor in determining the extent of the compensable injury. We conclude that the hearing officer’s decision is supported by sufficient evidence and that it is not so against the great weight and preponderance of the evidence as to be clearly wrong and unjust. Cain v. Bain, 709 S.W.2d 175 (Tex. 1986).
The hearing officer’s decision and order are affirmed.
